TL;dr Funnel cake, bourbon, brown sugar, pecan
 
I love carnival food unfortunately it doesn't go well with my low-carb diet. I decided to break my diet and snatch a funnel cake at the Jenny Wiley Festival in Prestonsburg. I was practically dancing waiting on the carnie to sprinkle the powdered sugar on top of the hot, greasy fried batter. I sat down and it wasn't what I remembered and it tasted exactly like that it is- sweet and greasy. As I stuffed my face, I wondered to myself "How could I make this better if I made it at home?" I imagined frying up the batter in my cast iron skillet, drizzling a creamy, sweet bourbon glaze all over and topping it with some toasted pecans and brown sugar. I decided to skip the carbs and make the e-liquid instead.
 
This photo was taken at the Apple Festival in Paintsville, Kentucky. I'm terrified of heights, but I was trying to act brave because I was there with my future wife. It was about dusk and the lighting was beautiful. I did, in fact, ride the ferris wheel, but, sadly, I white-knuckled it and showed my true chicken feathers when we were stopped at the top. She must be okay with a chicken because she married me anyway.
